5G Technology Will Boost Virtual Reality Business Applications

Different technologies and industries are looking forward to take advantage of the improvements made by 5G technology as it is compared to the improvements that are in the previous generation of cellular networks. With much faster speed and much less latency, 5G promises to take wireless connectivity to a whole new level, allowing the use of connected technologies that consume or generate a lot of data in locations far away from Wi-Fi or wired networks.

Different sectors are exploring the possibilities that this advancement will offer in their respective field, and one of them is that of extended reality. In recent statements, HTC’s senior vice president of virtual reality products and strategy, Raymond Pao, said 5G marketing will help rapid development of new virtual reality applications, which will have a massive impact on marketing of the new cellular networks.

Raymond Pao continued that, beyond the mere increased speed of this generation of networks, what will attract consumers and businesses will be the integration of 5G Technology networks with innovative applications and services, such as those that virtual reality will provide in numerous industries. Examples of this will be seen in the service sector, where immersive experiences for customers, or in the manufacturing industry, will increase in areas such as infrastructure design or administration.

But also in large consumption, with rapid increase in number of mobile platforms for VR and video content in 360 degrees. In any case, Pao said that this boom will begin to be seen around a year and a half after 5G technology networks are well established, since it is necessary for the user base of this technology to become more widespread, before companies VR’s turn in this new market.
