What Is The Best MacBook To Buy?

For Apple using, choosing a new laptop seems simple since there are only two models (including one available in 2 sizes) of MacBook, and yet…

Currently, the American firm sells three portable Macs: the MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the new 16-inch MacBook Pro. It has also equipped all its Air with a True Tone screen and has reduced the price of entry-level models.

On March 17, Apple announced the surprise release of its new MacBook Air 2020. It is already available on the brand’s website.

We organized our classification according to the uses of the general public and the quality/price ratio of each computer.

MacBook Air 2020

From $ 999

The MacBook Air 2020, available in 2 models, has a 13.3-inch Retina screen including IPS and TrueTone technologies. Like the 16-inch MacBook Pro, Apple added the Magic Keyboard to it with an ultra-responsive and discreet scissor mechanism.

For both versions, Apple has moved to the 10th generation of the 1.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core i3 processor. The basic model is at € 1,199 and the most advanced with a quad-core Core i5 is at € 1,499.

In addition to integrating an Intel UHD 617 graphics chip, it has been supplemented by the Intel Iris Plus, thus offering graphics performance 80% faster than its predecessor.

Its storage capacity is no longer 128 GB but 256 GB or 512 GB, configurable with a 2 TB SSD for an additional € 750. As for its memory, it is 8 GB LPDDR4X at 3733MHz.

This new MacBook Air is operational for any use. Whether it’s watching movies, going online, playing, or making video edits, you might be amazed at how fast it can be.

MacBook Air

From $ 1,099

The MacBook Air is a thin and light macOS; In July 2019, Apple added True Tone display technology to it and withdrew some of its older versions from the sale.

Here, it is not possible to switch to a processor more powerful than the 1.6 GHz, however, you can opt for the model with 16 GB of RAM and even benefit from 1 TB of storage space, for 740 Additional €.

The 1.6 GHz Core i5 8th generation processor should be enough for everyday computing tasks and it is also the cheapest so it is more suitable for users on a “tight” budget.

However, if you often have to use powerful and energy-intensive applications, then the MacBook Pro is the most suitable for you.

The connectivity of Air is limited, in favour of its slim silhouette Apple has sacrificed certain ports. You get two Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB Type-C) compatible with DisplayPort, Thunderbolt and USB Type-C, in addition to being a way to charge your laptop.

MacBook Pro

Form $ 1,299, $ 1,499, $ 1,799, $ 1,999

The MacBook Pro range is available in 2 different screen sizes (13 and 16 inches) but all models are now equipped with a touch bar, replacing the function keys, a True Tone display and the T2 chip.

For a 13-inch MacBook Pro with an 8th generation quad-core processor at 1.4 GHz, 128 GB of storage, it will cost you € 1,499, for 256 GB € 1,749 and for a processor at 4.1 GHz, you will have to pay 1,999 €.

The 16-inch model with 512 GB is at € 2,699 and the one with a 1 TB SSD costs € 3,199.

If the basic configurations are not enough for you, know that you can modify them and opt, for example, for a 1.4 GHz processor, a 16 GB memory and a 2 TB SSD for € 1,250 more. On the 16 inches, it is even possible to push the storage space up to 8 TB for an additional € 2,880.

Another difference between the 16 and the 13, the first has 4 Thunderbolt ports and the second two of these ports.

The MacBook Pro is perfect for photo editing and if on a daily basis, you work on complex video montages then we suggest the 16-inch MacBook Pro.

If you need large storage capacity and a fast computer, then the 16-inch MacBook Pro is also for you.

The Best MacBook For Gamers And Creatives

If you are a gamer or a creative (designer, web designer, photographer, videographer …) and are looking for a portable work/leisure tool with macOS environment, then, without hesitation, we recommend the 16-inch MacBook Pro (since that 17 inches no longer exists).

You will be given the choice between a Radeon Pro 560X and 580X, both of the 9th generation, which is ideal for image and video processing. Online gaming enthusiasts will appreciate its 4 GB memory.

However, be aware that the 13-inch Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 chip should be fast enough to play demanding titles.
