What Is WiFi 6? Everything You Need To Know And How You Can Benefit

With the arrival of the new iPhone 11 , the doors are opened to a new wireless connection protocol. Samsung’s Galaxy S10 was the first to anticipate the arrival WiFi technology. The WiFi Alliance, an organization that oversees the implementation of the WiFi standard, has certified the new wireless connection standard (IEEE 802.11ax) that will be known as WiFi 6 and it promises to improve and speed up the information transfer.

The organization has opened this Tuesday and the certification program of the new wireless connections, which will allow better performance of WiFi network in demanding environments such as stadiums, airports and parks where numerous connected devices accumulate. This technology will provide massive improvement, a series of improvements in the capacity, performance and latency of connections for the WiFi ecosystem, while ensuring that compatible electronic products work more operatively.

The most obvious result is that it will allow you to send more information in a certain bandwidth than the previous standards and will increase the bandwidth to offer a higher performance with low latency. In particular, it will run between three and four times better when it comes to the performance of the previous technology, achieving, in a lower response time.

It will be four times faster than the current standard, WiFi 5, implemented in most smart mobile phones. It assumes, say sources in the organization, a breakthrough for the ability of wireless networks to support a new high-performance infrastructure based on a high density of connected devices.

Some of its advantages are, the new WiFi 6 connections will allow users to customize the use of networks when it comes to detecting the most efficient connection, but it will also have an impact on the equipment’s battery consumption, which will be lower to current standards. In particular, support up to a maximum of seventy electronic devices in a range of up to 100 meters.

There is a massive upgrade when it comes to the capabilities of WiFi 6. It has higher data rate, higher capacity, better performance in environments with many devices connected and improved power efficiency, but it will try to pay more attention to computer security. As established in the protocol, the system will notify the user about the security of wireless connections.

WiFi 6 provide higher speeds and more WiFi networks efficiency, expanding its role as a critical communication platform,” says a statement Phil Solis , research director at IDC. “It offers a higher quality experience for all cases of WiFi use, further boosting the market and ensuring that wireless networks maintain their strong position as the connectivity landscape evolves.” The first chips have already been submitted under this certification.
