Apple launched two new models in September 2018 as advancement to their existing premium iPhone X. Two brand new iPhones Apple iPhone XS and Apple iPhone XS Max have landed and trending in the market. Apple has announced one more budget friendly device Apple iPhone XR which will be launched in October 2018 i.e. after a month after the launch of the premium devices.
iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max come with 4G support with a speed of HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE-A (4CA) Cat16 1024/150 Mbps, EV-DO Rev.A 3.1 Mbps. Both the devices support a Nano-SIM and also an Electronic SIM card (eSIM) with IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 2m for 30 minutes) and Apple Pay (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX certified).
iPhone XS and Apple iPhone XS Max come with OLED capacitive touch screen, 16M colours support with Scratch-resistant glass, oleo phobic coating, Dolby Vision, HDR10, Wide colour gamut, 3D Touch, True-tone and 120 Hz touch-sensing. Both devices work on latest iOS 12 with Apple A12 Bionic (7 nm) chip inside with Hexa-core (2×2.5 GHz Vortex + 4×1.6 GHz Tempest) CPU and Apple GPU (4-core graphics).
Three different storage capacities 64/256/512 GB are available with 4 GB RAM in common for all. Two main cameras 12 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, OIS, PDAF and 12 MP, f/2.4, 52mm (telephoto), 1/3.4″, 1.0µm, OIS, PDAF, 2x optical zoom with Quad-LED dual-tone flash, HDR (photo/panorama). Video captures with a speed of 2160p@24/30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps, HDR, stereo sound rec. Front camera with 7 MP, f/2.2, 32mm (standard) and video captures as 1080p@60fps.
Apple has continued to move without 3.5mm jack in their new iPhone XS and Apple iPhone XS Max devices as every user needs to use proprietary reversible connector for connecting regular 3.5mm jack headset. Face ID, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and barometer sensors were upgraded.
These devices support Fast battery charging 15W: 50% in 30 min but user need to purchase fast battery charger and cable as they are not included in the device box. Qi wireless charging is an extra feature to these devices as they can be charged faster with this wireless charging than with the adapter and cable that are included in the box.
As usually these devices come in the same trademark colours Space Gray, Silver and Gold of apple. Apple iPhone XR, which will be launched in October 2018, will have multiple fresh colours.
