Larry Page & Sergey Brin | The Two Geniuses Who Founded Google

Sergey Brin and Larry Page – The Two Geniuses Who founded Google (now owned by parent company Alphabet) in 1998 in a garage in Menlo Park, California. Google CEO Larry Page is one of the richest men in the world. It is estimated that his fortune is around 23,000 million euros, according to Forbes magazine.

The Journey Of Lawrence Edward

Lawrence Edward “Larry Page” was born in 1973 in Michigan. After two years, he began to receive classes at a school that followed the Montesori method, based on emphasizing the activity carried out by the same child, while being monitored by a teacher. This teaching method tries to adapt the child’s level of development to the environment in which the child learns.

At age six Larry became passionate about computers. This interest would remain throughout his life until he enrolled as a Computer Engineer at Michigan State University.

When he did his doctorate at Stanford he met Sergey Brin. Both did not get together at first. Their opinions were different on many topics, but they coincide on a fundamental one: how to retrieve information from a large data set.

Between them, they created the Google Internet search engine in 1998. It is believed that they put that name to the search engine because of its phonetic similarity with the number “Gúgol”, a figure resulting from raising the number ten to the hundredth power.

Page held the presidency of Google along with Brin until in 2001 they hired Eric Schmidt as CEO, since he held until 2011, when he went to Page.

In 2004 he received on behalf of Google the Prince of Asturias of Communication and Humanities. Three years later he married Lucinda Southworth, a graduate in biomedical sciences from the Universities of Pennsylvania and Oxford.

The Story of Maths Genius Sergey Brin

Sergey Brin was born in Moscow in 1973, as his partner Larry Page. When he was 6 years old, he emigrated to the United States. His parents are top-notch scientists: a NASA researcher and a Mathematics professor at the University of Maryland.

It was precisely his father who encouraged Sergei’s interest in mathematics, for which he was always well endowed. In fact, he graduated with honors in Exact Sciences at the University of Maryland. During his time at university, he created Fleetic, a service similar to Twitter, which did not prosper.

Thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation, he began his postgraduate studies at Stanford University, where he met the partner with whom they would change the history of computing forever, through Google.

When they created the Google embryo, which they initially called BackRub, they realized that their search engine was sensational. So it is that they left their studies to dump all their energies in the search engine. For this, they bought servers and began to dedicate themselves from a humble garage to the project that a few years later would become the most important company in the world.

In 2007, the same year as his inseparable companion, Brin married Anne Wojcicki, a biotechnology specialist graduated from Yale University. She is also co-founder of the 23andMe company, which allows people to analyze and compare their genetic map.
